The Teacher

Tiffany Berry has been practicing yoga since 2000.  She first started when her company gym offered sponsored classes during the workday, and stayed with that same teacher for five years.  When she moved to Washington from Southern California, she explored a number of yoga studios in the area, primarily spending time at Yoga Tree in Seattle, and Shakti Yoga in Belleuve.Tiffany Berry

She has practiced numerous styles, and primarily practices in the styles of Hatha and Vinyasa, but enjoys Iyengar and Anusara inspired Hatha and Power Yoga in the bulk of her own practice.  Now that she is pregnant, she also has been very happy to add prenatal yoga to her own practice and her teaching schedule, using the benefits of yoga to make pregnancy and childbirth easier.  She enjoys studying the yoga sutras, and the application of yoga philosophy to our every day lives.  And she loves exploring and studying the body and how it moves, to better protect and strengthen what we all have to work with.

In 2008, after two years of exploring, Tiffany took a 6-month, 200-hr teacher training in Seattle.  With the help of friends to get a lot of practice teaching under her belt, she graduated in June 2008, and began teaching.  She absolutely loves it! Her training history is listed below:

  • 200-hr Yoga Works Teacher Training: Catherine Munroe, Yoga Tree, Seattle, WA
  • 45-hr Essential Low Back Therapy Teacher Training: Robin Rothenberg, Yoga Barn, Issaquah, WA
  • Yoga Nidra: Yoga Barn, Issaquah, WA
  • 35-hr Pre-/Post-Natal Teacher Training: Anne Phyfe Palmer, 8 Limbs Yoga, Seattle, WA
  • Neck and Shoulders: Robin Rothenberg, Yoga Barn, Issaquah.

Prior to teaching yoga full time, she was a Software Engineer for 9 years.  In her spare time she enjoys hiking/backpacking, skiing/snowshoeing, cooking, photography, reading, and training her dog, Neo.
